Prevention

Early Childhood Development (ECD)

We serve as a vital buffer for working migrant families who face the "triple burden" of childcare, lack of documentation, and economic pressure.

Long-Hour Care: To support parents working grueling shifts, our center opens as early as 6:00 AM, providing a safe, educational environment for infants and toddlers.
School Readiness: We provide foundational English language instruction and social skills, ensuring that children from displaced backgrounds are prepared to succeed in the South African formal schooling system.

Intervention

The Drop-In Centre (DIC)

For children already living on or off the streets of Parow, El Theos provides an immediate sanctuary from the dangers of exploitation, substance abuse, and neglect.

Social Relief: We provide nutritious meals, clean clothing, and basic hygiene facilities—the first steps in building trust and safety.
Crisis Counseling: Our social work team provides immediate psychological support to help children navigate the trauma of street life.
Safe Haven: We offer a stable "alternative shelter" environment that shields youth from the influences of the street while we work on long-term solutions.

Reintegration

Education & Vocational Training

The ultimate goal of our mission is to return every child to a productive, stable place in society.

Educational Placement: We facilitate the re-enrollment of children into formal schools, providing them with the necessary uniforms, stationery, and tutoring to close the educational gap.
Vocational Skill-Building: In our newly expanded 2025 facility, we offer hands-on training in:
- Carpentry & Sewing: Providing practical trades for older youth.
- Life Skills & Literacy: Equipping teenagers with the independence needed for adulthood.
Specialized Referrals: For youth requiring intensive rehabilitation, we partner with specialized institutions to ensure they receive the highest level of care.
